Every holiday scammers take advantage of the influx of consumers on the online market. The biggest holidays for online scams are Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Valentine’s Day, but what do you have to worry about this Easter?

Be on the lookout for:
– Unsolicited ecards that contain malicious links.
– Shipping confirmation emails that contain malware.
– Online ads that promise that you will wake up to hundreds of pre-filled eggs in your yard but would like full upfront payment.

What can you do to avoid these scams?
– Check their references, comments, and ratings when ordering from individuals you do not know personally.
– Avoid opening unsolicited emails or following their links.
– Confirm email address/source of shipping/confirmation emails before responding or purchasing their items/services.
– Check emails for typos or links that are not associated with the content of the email before following them.

Make sure the only unexpected expenses you have this Easter are dentist visits from having too many chocolate easter bunnies!
